Davis County lands major wrestling tournament

FARMINGTON -- The smell of wrestlers has never smelled so much like money to Davis County officials.On Tuesday, the County Commission approved a $6,850 contract with USA Wrestling Utah to host an end of December, first week of January, regional wrestling tournament at the Legacy Events Center at 151 S. 1100 West, Farmington.

'Unfortunate' water line break backs up sewage into Layton homes

LAYTON -- A Layton water main break late Friday filled a sewer sanitation line under construction, resulting in the basements of three homes being flooded with sewer water.The main break occurred at about 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Oak Forest Drive and Raelyn Drive, said Paul Applonie, Layton City assistant public works director.
