OGDEN - About 7300 residents were left without power Friday night.Power outages were reported around 10 a.m. on the east side of Ogden by residents.Margaret Oler, spokeswoman for Rocky Mountain Power, told the Standard-Examiner that customers near the mouth of Ogden Canyon were experiencing outages due to problems with a nearby substation. Escaped Weber jail inmate at large

HARRISVILLE - Police are on the lookout for a jail inmate after he and another decided to walk off the job during work release Friday morning.A group of inmates from the Weber County Jail were working at the county animal shelter at 1373 Fairgrounds Drive, when around 10 a.m., two of them decided to sneak off, Sgt. Lane Findlay said.

Several family members gathered for the hearing exhibited a similarly muted reaction.

OGDEN -- Genetically Modified Organisms can be found everywhere, including the clothes people wear and the food they eat.If a food has a sweetener or a bit of soy, it may have GMOs. Even a burger may come from a steer fed with genetically modified alfalfa.
