LAYTON -- Layton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8307 will join hundreds of other VFW Posts around the U.S. in hosting a community event to honor Korean War veterans and their families on the 60th anniversary of the Armistice signing.

Local veterans, members of the community and local officials will gather for a "Pancakes for Patriots" breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Layton VFW, 1389 N. Main St.

The breakfast will be followed by a live telecast of "Heroes Remembered," a ceremony taking place in Washington, D.C., celebrating the end of the war.

There also will be Korean-American cultural presentations and a ceremonial wreath laying.
